Accepted styles include Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionism, and Contemporary (Jazz &amp; Pop are not allowed), except for Chinese instruments, where traditional repertoire is preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Time limit for solo piece:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Junior Talent (ages 8 and under): 6 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Young Talent (ages 9\u201312): 8 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Young Artists (ages 13\u201317): 10 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Artists (ages 18\u201330): 12 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Time limit for Concerto:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Age 8 and under (15 minutes, One movement or complete miniature work)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 9-12 (20 minutes, One movement or complete miniature work)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 13-17 (25 minutes, One movement or complete miniature work)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 18-30 (30 minutes, One\/Two movement (s) or complete miniature work)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Time Limit for Piano Duo\/Duet and Chamber Music:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Age 8 under: 8 mins<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 12 under: 10 mins<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 17 under: 15 mins<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Age 30 under: 20 mins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Participants may receive certificates for performing Canadian compositions from Canadian Music Centre-BC. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/vancouvercompetition.com\/zh\/canadian-repertoire-vimf\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"4544\">here<\/a> for a list of Canadian composers and compositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Evaluation &amp; Gala Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">All student performances will be evaluated by the artist and ranked <strong>1st, 2nd, and 3rd<\/strong> in each instrumental age group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The top performer(s) from each instrument category will be selected to perform at the <strong>Gala Concert<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>If selected, performing at the Gala Concert is mandatory. <\/strong>If a selected participant is unable to perform at the Gala, the committee reserves the right to withdraw the award and offer it to the next eligible candidate who is available to perform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ebeb5b51ad1db10c19c0dc561773f8b6\"><strong>Rules &amp; Regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The Vancouver International Music Festival is governed by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee managed by the President of the Vancouver International Music Festival.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Participants must adhere to all festival arrangements, rules, and schedules. The decisions of the Executive Committee on all regulatory matters are final.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The VIMF reserves the right to amend the Syllabus, Rules, and Arrangements. Any amendments will be posted on the website without individual notification to participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Artists&#8217; decisions are final, but the committee may revoke a decision under exceptional circumstances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The VIMF promotes diversity and does not discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, or political affiliation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Participants release the VIMF from any damages, claims, liabilities, costs, or losses arising from participation in the festival, Gala performance, and recording.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The VIMF reserves the right to use participants&#8217; photos for promotional purposes unless otherwise instructed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Participants are not permitted to communicate with the artists before their performance but may do so after the class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vancouver International Music Festival The 2025 Vancouver International Music Festival will featuring world renowned guests for concerts, masterclasses and performance classes for students.
