He has been on the piano faculty of the GGS since its formation in 1987, and has also taught at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Mr. Anagnoson\u2019s students have won prizes in International Competitions such as the Maria Canals, the International Franz Liszt, the Gina Bachauer, and the Dublin International competitions, and repeatedly are prizewinners in Canada\u2019s National Competitions such as the Canadian Music Competition and the Toronto Symphony Competition. He has given master classes in various parts of Europe, North America, and Asia, and he has been a juror for competitions such as the Dublin International Piano Competition, the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, the Canadian Chopin Competition, the Prix d&#8217;Europe, the International e-Competition, the Toronto International Piano Competition, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In 1976, James Anagnoson began performing with Canadian pianist Leslie Kinton. The duo Anagnoson &amp; Kinton received unanimous acclaim from both audiences and critics, and have performed in more than 1000 concerts around the world. The duo has been heard in concerto appearances with Canada&#8217;s leading orchestras, and they have made 10 CDs of works for two pianos, two pianos and orchestra and piano four hands, which are played regularly across Canada, the United States and Europe. Anagnoson &amp; Kinton have also performed for the BBC, Czech National Radio, Hong Kong Radio, Hilversum Radio in Holland, and radio Suisse Romande. Recognized as one of the world\u2019s finest piano duos, Anagnoson &amp; Kinton were named Honorary Fellows of The Royal Conservatory of Music in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">James Anagnoson has been heard nationally on the CBC radio as a guest host on both&nbsp;<em>The Arts Tonight&nbsp;<\/em>\u9881\u53d1\u5956\u724c\u53ca\u8bc1\u4e66&nbsp;<em>This Is My Music<\/em>, and as a piano commentator for both the Esther Honens International Piano Competition and the CBC Young Performer&#8217;s Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Mr. Anagnoson received his Master&#8217;s degree from class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"\">Pianist Henri-Paul Sicsic\u2019s mission as a teacher of the Art of Music is to serve and teach the music of the great masters and contribute to the safe keeping of its authenticity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Sicsic became the first member of the music performance faculty at the University of British Columbia to be awarded the Killam Teaching Prize, one of Canada\u2019s highest academic honours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Henri-Paul Sicsic was raised in a cultural environment of teachers, composers and artists in the teacher-student lineage of Chopin, Faur\u00e9, and Ravel. While at the Conservatoire de Nice, he studied with Juliette Audibert-Lambert who was a disciple of Alfred Cortot, eminent grand pupil of Chopin, and of&nbsp;&nbsp;Gabriel Faur\u00e9.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Sicsic also counts Pierre Sancan (First Grand Prix of Rome of Composition) among teachers who brought light to his musical journey.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">John Perry provided him with what Sicsic sees as most invaluable insights in music and beyond. He received boundless inspiration from Professor Perry\u2019s incomparable pedagogical gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">His students have distinguished themselves at the national and international levels, earned top prizes and awards at major competitions, Fulbright and Canada Council grants, and teach at universities in the U. S., Canada and abroad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Henri-Paul Sicsic has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the Pasadena Philharmonic, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, among others. His performances have been aired in New York City on WQXR radio, on the National French classical radio program \u201cFrance Musique\u201d in other major centers in the U.S. and on the C.B.C. in Canada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">At the Conservatoire de Nice, France, Sicsic was awarded a first prize with honours in piano, a first prize in chamber music, and a conducting diploma.&nbsp;&nbsp;As a pianist, he also received a first prize at the Grand Prix de la Ville de Nice Competition and was a winner of the Royaume de la Musique (Music Kingdom)&nbsp;&nbsp;National Radio Competition in France.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Sicsic taught at Rice University as the associate of eminent artist-teacher John Perry. He was a member of the piano faculty at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver for thirteen years. He has performed concertos with ensembles including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. His solo repertoire ranges from the Baroque to contemporary premieres, with recent recordings of works by Kelly-Marie Murphy and Jocelyn Morlock released on the Naxos label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Wright made his solo debut with the York Guildhall Orchestra performing Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Romance<\/em>, later broadcast on BBC Radio 3. His performances have also been featured on CBC Radio (Canada) and Hong Kong\u2019s Radio 4. As an orchestral musician, he has worked with many of the world\u2019s most revered conductors, including Bernard Haitink, Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, and Mstislav Rostropovich. He has appeared with leading London orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra and the London Philharmonic, and has served as guest concertmaster with the Bournemouth Symphony and BBC Concert Orchestras. In 2003, he became the youngest member of the London Symphony Orchestra, where he held the first violin sub-principal chair and collaborated with composers including John Williams and Alexandre Desplat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">An avid chamber musician, Wright performs regularly with the VSO Chamber Players, Music on Main, and festivals such as Mainly Mozart and Ribble Valley. He was formerly first violinist of Vancouver\u2019s acclaimed Koerner Quartet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Nicholas trained at the Royal College of Music in London under Itzhak Rashkovsky and Rodney Friend, and received support from the Martin Musical Fund, Craxton Memorial Fund, and Royal Overseas League. He has studied with Ruggiero Ricci and Gil Shaham, and now teaches at the VSO School of Music. Mr. Elworthy has been named a Fellow of The Royal Conservatory of Music for his extraordinary contribution to Canadian Arts and Culture, an honor he shares with such cultural icons as Oscar Peterson, Robertson Davies, Adrienne Clarkson and Leon Fleisher. His recordings can be heard on EMI, Sony, Archtype, Naxos and Bose record labels. In addition to receiving the Sylva Gelber Award of $15,000, Joseph has been the recipient of multiple Canada Council career grants exceeding $50,000. Mr. Elworthy is a graduate of the Juilliard School and Yale University where he was the recipient of the&nbsp;<em>Aldo<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Parisot \u2013 Yo-Yo Ma Prize<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 the highest honour issued by Yale University to a graduating cellist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Mr. Elworthy has been a visiting artist at the Beijing Conservatory, Harvard University, Royal Northern College of Music, Glenn Gould School, and the Royal Conservatory of Music. Joseph Elworthy co-founded the Koerner Piano Trio, the first chamber ensemble in residence at the Vancouver Academy of Music. In 2013, Mr. Elworthy was appointed as Western Music Advisor for the newly established Haw Par Music Foundation \u2013 a collaborative educational initiative linking Vancouver and Hong Kong. Joseph Elworthy was a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for 12 years before retiring from the orchestra in 2014. Harpist Kaori has won numerous competitions, including 1st prize at the Soka International Harp Competition in Professional, Advanced, and Junior Division; and has adjudicated in all Divisions. &nbsp;She was a 1st prize winner at the Indiana University Harp Ginastera Concerto Competition, and has received the Marilyn Costello Memorial Prize award at the USA International Harp Competition where she currently serves as a board member. &nbsp;She is also an active member of the Social Media Committee X for the World Harp Congress and served as a board member from 2011-2022. Kaori was a Member of the Host Committee for the World Harp Congress in Vancouver, Canada in 2011.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Kaori\u2019s student has also won many International Music Contests. Her student was invited to the USA International Harp Competition\u2019s prestigious \u201cStars of Tomorrow\u201d to perform. Kaori has also received a Teacher\u2019s Award at London Young Musician of the year in 2021-2022 for her extraordinary dedication and achievement in the field of teaching music. She was recognized for her outstanding music teaching, and her student\u2019s excellent harp performance in London Young Musician 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">She has given many solo recitals and concerto performances around the world. Some of her highlight performances have been the Damase Concertino and Debussy Danses with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the Handel Concerto with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra. Kaori has also performed the Mozart Concerto with the Nippon Phil conducted by Maestro Kenichiro Kobayashi in Japan, and with Langley Orchestra in Canada. She has performed at the EXPO in Aichi, Japan where she was born and was invited to do solo recitals in Osaka, Fukui, Chiba, Tokyo, and Sapporo. She has performed at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong, Sydney, Vancouver, Geneva and Tacoma. &nbsp;Kaori has also performed at the Mariinsky Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Expo Vancouver, and at the Rio Harp Festival. Recently, she was invited as a guest performer at the Molnar\u2019s Concert in Japan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Kaori graduated from Indiana University under Susann McDonald, The Juilliard School under Nancy Allen, and The Curtis Institute of Music under Marilyn Costello. She has also studied the harp in Nice, South of France under Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche and received private lessons at Indiana University from Isabelle Perrin, Jana Bouskova, Atsuko Yoshino, Naoko Yoshino and Sabastien Lipman. &nbsp;In earlier years, she studied with Lynn Palmer in Seattle and at the Vancouver Academy of Music, as well as Victoria Conservatory under Taka Kling where she received many prizes, scholarships and awards from the Conservatory. Dedicated to championing music by living composers, he has premiered over 250 works for flute, including concerti written for him by Dorothy Chang, Jocelyn Morlock, Jian Ping Tang and Aaron Gervais. Paolo is co-artistic director of the Nu:BC Collective, which has performed at festivals across Canada, the US and Asia, and has premiered works by many of Canada\u2019s leading composers.&nbsp;<em>Beyond Shadows<\/em>, Nu:BC\u2019s debut CD, as well as Paolo\u2019s solo release&nbsp;<em>Israfel<\/em>&nbsp;have received multiple nominations at the Western Canadian Music Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Paolo is principal flutist and New Music Advisor for the Vancouver Island Symphony where he was the driving force behind the Canadian Concerto Project, which commissioned, premiered, and recorded five new concerti by Canadian composers. The resulting album&nbsp;<em>A Quinary<\/em>&nbsp;includes Jocelyn Morlock\u2019s flute concerto&nbsp;<em>Ornithomancy<\/em>, and was nominated for 4 Western Canadian Music Awards. Paolo was also the soloist for the premiere recording of Dorothy Chang\u2019s JUNO-nominated flute concerto&nbsp;<em>Flight<\/em>&nbsp;on the&nbsp;<em>Soaring Spirits<\/em>&nbsp;CD with the UBC Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Raised in Halifax, Bortolussi is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and the Indiana University School of Music (MM, DMA). He is Lecturer of flute, chamber music, and directs the Contemporary Players Ensemble at the University of British Columbia School of Music. His music can be heard on soundtracks for film, television and theatre\/dance productions across Canada and the U.S. Wallace received a Leo Award for best music for a documentary for his work on \u201c1491\u201d the TV series and received the Lieutenant Governor\u2019s Art and Music Award in 2022 for artists who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, community engagement, and commitment through fostering and mentoring others in the fields of Visual Arts, Music or Performance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Wallace\u2019s music has been performed internationally and was featured at Biennale Arte 2022-The 59th International Art Exhibition in Venice. As a soloist, he has performed with top orchestras across Canada, including the Toronto, Vancouver, Quebec, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Calgary symphonies, as well as Orchestre M\u00e9tropolitain. In the U.S., he has appeared with the San Francisco, Cincinnati, National, Richmond, and Honolulu symphonies, and with the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Currently in his second season as Music Director and Principal Conductor of the&nbsp;<strong>VAM Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>&nbsp;at the Vancouver Academy of Music, Parker works closely with emerging young artists, conducting four annual concerts at Vancouver\u2019s historic Orpheum Theatre. Equally credited as a chamber musician, she has appeared in some of the UK\u2019s top venues including London\u2019s South Bank, the Bridgewater Hall and St.John\u2019s Smith Square. &nbsp;Now based in her hometown of Vancouver, Grace performs regularly with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as an orchestral pianist. He is from the 4th generation of suona players in his family, and graduated from the Heilongiang Performing Arts University in 1993. He has toured in China, Japan, the USA, Europe, and Canada, and has been featured in numerous solo, chamber and orchestral recordings and performances, spanning a diverse range of styles including traditional Chinese music and opera, contemporary music, experimental theatre, Celtic traditions, and jazz collaborations. Recently, the Western Canada Music Awards awarded \u201cJasmine Jazz,\u201d his collaboration with the Vancouver Chinese Ensemble and the Jodi Proznick Trio, Best Instrumental Artist of 2023. As suona and sheng soloist, he premiered Rita Ueda\u2019s double concerto, <em>Birds Calling\u2026From the Canada in You<\/em>, with the Orchestre M\u00e9tropolitain de Montr\u00e9al in 2022. Subsequently, he performed this work to great acclaim in London, UK with the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2023, and in 2024, with the Esprit Orchestra in Toronto, and the Orchestra of St. Luke\u2019s at Lincoln Center in New York, working with conductors Alexandre Bloch, Nicolas Ellis, Alex Pauk, and Steven Mercurio. A graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China\u2019s top music institution, she became the youngest professor in the country&#8217;s history. She has received numerous national awards and has performed internationally across Asia, Europe, and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ms. Liu rose to global recognition in the Academy Award-winning documentary&nbsp;<em>From Mao to Mozart<\/em>&nbsp;(1980), where her pipa performance for violinist Isaac Stern earned high praise. She has also been commended by renowned figures such as Zuqiang Wu, Dehai Liu, Seiji Ozawa, and Herbert von Karajan. Her achievements are recorded in&nbsp;<em>Who\u2019s Who of the World<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Chinese Famous Contemporary Writers and Artists<\/em>\u4ee5\u53ca&nbsp;<em>Chinese Famous Musicians<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In China, Ms. Liu served as Principal of the Plucked Instruments Section in the Central Conservatory\u2019s Chinese Orchestra and as Director of the Shanghai Pipa Society. She was an active member of the Chinese Musicians\u2019 Association and the Chinese National Orchestral Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Now based in Vancouver, Canada, she is the Art Director of Pearl Music Studio. Her students have won major local awards, including the Overall Championship at the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival. She has served as a judge at many major competitions, such as the Taipei Pipa Competition, Hong Kong Schools\u2019 Music Festival, and China National Pipa Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ms. Liu has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony. In 2008, she led a benefit concert to support victims of the Wenchuan earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Currently, she continues to perform worldwide with the acclaimed Canadian ensemble Red
