The Vancouver International Music Festival–Competition 2026 marks a significant milestone:
the fourth edition of the Vancouver International Music Competition, returning at the culmination of its three-year artistic cycle.
Founded to celebrate artistic excellence, cultural exchange, and the next generation of musical voices, the Competition brings together young artists from around the world to perform on an international stage in the heart of Vancouver. Through rigorous adjudication, inspiring performances, and a shared commitment to musical integrity, VIMC has become a recognized platform for emerging talent across piano, strings, woodwinds, and voice.
As part of the broader Vancouver International Music Festival, the 2026 edition continues to connect performance, education, and community—honouring tradition while looking forward to the future of classical music.
We acknowledge that our events will happen on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
