Celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday

Welcome to Vancouver

We are proud to announce the 2017 Vancouver International Music Competition (VIMC) to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday!  The VIMC is an industry pioneer as the first international classical music competition in British Columbia, Canada, offering a worldwide platform for musical and cultural exchange and an opportunity for young musicians from around the world to perform and grow.  The VIMC is organized by the Canada International Arts & Music Society and is supported by the Canadian Music Center.  The aim of the competition is to promote the tradition of classical music as well as the music of Canadian composers worldwide.  The VIMC will help competitors build confidence, encourage artistic and professional development, and expose young musicians to the vast opportunities that North America has to offer.
