Elizabeth Volpé Bligh Concert Harpist & Professor of Harp Elizabeth Volpé Bligh was the Vancouver Symphony’s Principal Harpist for 35 years (1982 – 2018), after 6 seasons (1976 -1982) as the Principal Harpist of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra. Elizabeth’s career includes concerto performances with the VSO and other orchestras, chamber music concerts, movie soundtracks, and recordings. She is featured in The Greater Vancouver Album (works by Michael Conway Baker) and premiered his Harp Concerto with the VSO, which was recorded by CBC Radio. She can also be heard on VSO recordings, such as its Grammy- and Juno-award-winning recording of the Korngold and Walton Violin Concertos with James Ehnes. She has taught privately and at institutions such as the Vancouver Academy of Music, UBC, Pacific Harp Institute, CISHI, VSO School of Music, PRISMA, and VSOI. She is currently President of the BC Chapter of the American Harp Society and West Coast Harp Society. Click here to read more about our Artistic Advisor Elizabeth Volpé Bligh Watch Elizabeth Volpé Bligh Interview – VIMC 2020 Artistic Advisor Jordan Nobles Canadian Composer, Juno award winner Associated with Canadian Music Centre BCA winner of multiple international composition awards, a Western Canada Music Award, and a 2017 JUNO Award for Classical Composition of the Year, North Vancouver-based composer Jordan Nobles has worked as a producer and concert presenter in the Vancouver cultural community for over twenty years. Nobles have served as co-artistic director of the Redshift Music Society since its inception in 2001 and in this capacity, has presented well over 100 contemporary classical music concerts in the Vancouver area which have exposed thousands of people from all walks of life to the diversity and vitality of Canadian music. In an effort to further promote the efforts of emerging and established Canadian composers and performers, Nobles helped launch the award-winning Redshift Records label in 2007.
