MEET SOME OF OUR PIANO JURIES

Mark Anderson  
Steinway Artist & Professor of Piano and Pedagogy in UBC
Pianist Mark Anderson’s recordings and performances have met with widespread critical acclaim over the past several decades. Since his successes at the 1993 Leeds (U.K.) and 1994 William Kapell (U.S.) International Piano Competitions, Mark Anderson has appeared frequently as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician. He has performed in Japan, throughout much of Europe and Great Britain, Ireland, and North America.
 
Mark received his early formative training in California and 1988, he received a Fulbright Scholarship to continue his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England under Ryszard Bakst. Subsequently, he continued his education privately with Benjamin Kaplan in London.

llana Vered
Concert Pianist & Professor of Piano from Italy
Ilana Vered has performed as a soloist under the batons of most of the world’s finest conductors. A regular participant in summer festivals, she has repeatedly demonstrated sovereign musical and technical command over some forty-five concertos.Ilana Vered is a chamber musician of distinction and has appeared with important chamber ensembles throughout the world. Ilana Vered has been a frequent guest on television and radio, including appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and The Merv Griffin Show in the USA and UK.IIana Vered also taught master classes and has founded three festivals, the Summerfest Series of Rutgers University, the Hamptons Summerfest, and Music Fest Perugia in Perugia, Italy, which is today the largest festival for classical young musicians in Italy.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
The VIMC’s purpose is to host a quality musical event for the competitors and local music community. This year’s virtual international music competition will allow performers from worldwide to compete in a flexible environment to express their own musical talents. 

Application & Submission Deadlines:
Preliminary Round- June 15, 2021, 11:59pm
Final Round- August 31, 2021, 11:59pm
