Sean Bickerton
Violinist & Music Executive

Sean Bickerton has spent his entire life dedicated to the performing arts. He studied violin, French horn, piano, singing and acting in his youth, later playing violin professionally in the Victoria Symphony Orchestra while studying violin performance at the University of Victoria. He also served as concertmaster of the University of Victoria Orchestra and the Contemporary Music Ensemble. As an arts executive, Bickerton was most recently Executive Director of the Vancouver Recital Society. Previously he was a Vice President of Columbia Artists Management Inc. in New York where he produced North American tours for celebrated European orchestras and managed Grammy Award-winning classical artists. In addition to producing Ricky Martin’s first stadium concerts in China, Bickerton is a co-founder of KultureShock.Net, a website service for more than 160 performing artists including the Emerson String Quartet and Maestro Bramwell Tovey, and has presented web and social media seminars for the Manhattan School of Music, Opera Magazine, the Van Cliburn Competition and Chamber Music America. He has served on the City of Vancouver’s Arts & Culture Policy Council, and the Board of Directors for both the Vancouver Recital Society and Langley Community Music School.
