Donation
The VIMF, organized by the charitable organziation CIAMS (CRA Charity Number: 71329 3926 RR0001), provides a stepping stone for emerging young musicians around the world to perform and develop in the field. Our purpose is to promote the inheritance and preservation of classical music while exploring Canadian works. Your generosity will help keep this mission going for generations to come. We will provide tax receipt for donations. Thank you!
Registration
The deadline for Final Round is July 31st, 2026
Before registering for the Final Round of 2026 Vancouver International Music Festival-Competition, please confirm that your repertoire(s) meets all of the following criteria:
- Candidates must perform one or two contrasting works of different musical styles.
- One movement of a multi-movement work (e.g., a sonata or concerto) is considered one piece.
- Exceeding the time limit may result in deductions at the discretion of the jury.
- Arrangements, simplified or modified editions, transpositions, and popular music are not permitted.
- Certain arranged harp compositions may be accepted with prior approval from the VIMC Committee.
- All repertoire must be performed by memory in the Final Round.
- Final Round Time Limits (apply to the entire performance)
- Junior Talent: 6 minutes
- Young Talent: 8 minutes
- Young Artists: 10 minutes
- Artists: 12 minutes
If there is any violation of the rules, the candidate will be disqualified without further notice.
