Donation

The VIMF, organized by the charitable organziation CIAMS (CRA Charity Number: 71329 3926 RR0001), provides a stepping stone for emerging young musicians around the world to perform and develop in the field. Our purpose is to promote the inheritance and preservation of classical music while exploring Canadian works. Your generosity will help keep this mission going for generations to come. We will provide tax receipt for donations. Thank you!

Registration

The deadline for submitting applications and videos is June 15th, 2026

Before registering for the 2026 Vancouver International Music Competition, please confirm that your video performance meets all of the following criteria:

Candidates must perform two contrasting works of different musical styles, including at least one Baroque or Classical piece.
One movement of a multi-movement work (e.g., a sonata or concerto) is considered one piece.
Exceeding the time limit may result in deductions at the discretion of the jury.
Arrangements, simplified or modified editions, transpositions, and popular music are not permitted.
Certain arranged harp compositions may be accepted with prior approval from the VIMC Committee.
All repertoire must be performed by memory in both the preliminary and final rounds.

If there is any violation of the rules or the video cannot be opened, the candidate will be disqualified without further notice.
