Video Submission Guidelines for the Preliminary Round
Before registering for the 2023 Vancouver International Music Competition, please confirm that your video performance meets all of the following criteria:
Your recording(s) must be made within 6 months from the application deadline, separate video link for each piece.
Each piece must be filmed by a single camera and no editing is allowed during the performance (title cards are acceptable).
Multiple movements should all be recorded in one take, no editing is allowed between the movements in one piece.
Do your best to record both audio and video with the best microphone and camera you have access to.
Your face, hands, and instrument should be clearly visible at all times.
Musical repeat sections should be omitted unless they are absolutely necessary (such as Da capo repeats.
The final round repertoire(s) is required to be played by memory.
Respect the time limitation for the age group. The jury panel will deduct 1 mark for each extra minute.
If there is any violation of the rules or the video cannot be opened, the candidate will be disqualified without further notice.
