The onsite preliminary round in Vancouver was a success with many competitors performing for the 2017 Vancouver International Music Competition. Close to 300 applicants total participated onsite and submitted videos for the preliminary round of the 2017 VIMC. The onsite preliminary round was hosted in Nanjing, China, and Vancouver, Canada.
With the conclusion of the preliminary round, we will be sending out emails within the next two days to confirm finalists for the final round of the competition. Competitors who make the final round must submit their repertoire selections for the final round by September 19, 2017. Please check your email for instructions on how to submit your final round repertoire. In addition, please review our rules and regulations carefully to make sure that you follow our guidelines for the final round repertoire as well as the competition rules.
All 2017 Vancouver International Music Competition competitors will receive two complimentary tickets for the final round. One complimentary ticket is reserved for a competitor and the second complimentary ticket is for a guest. Competitors should expect to receive an email about these complimentary final round tickets shortly. We ask that competitors respond by September 24, 2017, to confirm attendance and reserve tickets for the final round concerts. Competitors can claim their tickets at the registration table during October 6 and 7 at the UBC School of Music building where the concerts are taking place with photo ID.
